Lone Star Capital is a Asia-based macro- and event-driven fund, making private and public market investments across multiple sectors, asset classes, and geographies. We focus on fundamental, intrinsic, and relative value, backstopped by proprietary algorithms, screens, and process for durable alpha generation that spans the cycle.
The firm is currently seeking a Portfolio Strategist to support the investment team located in our Hong Kong office. This person will be the key interface between Lone Star‘s analysts and our senior portfolio managers and partners as we simultaneously complete a transition to a family office structure. Disparate strategies (for example, Global SMID Cap, Asia Fintech, Emerging Market Relative Value) will need to be holistically evaluated and tactically managed on a firm-wide basis as part of this process.
Masters or other Advanced Degree with a finance, accounting, economics, business, mathematics, or similar emphasis. CFA Designation preferred.
7+ years of investment research/portfolio management experience, buy-side or sell-side, ideally from a globally-oriented fund manager and/or major investment bank research platform.
A demonstrated skill-set in financial accounting, valuation, modeling, asset allocation, cross-asset investing, risk management, and economic analysis.
Experience/skill-set across investment process including portfolio construction and implementation, measurement and monitoring, investment due diligence, prime brokerage and execution, factor and style analysis and return decomposition.
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships, among internal and external constituencies.
Excellent communication abilities: verbal acuity and writing proficiency.
Exceptional organization and prioritization skills, proactive, detailed-oriented, decisive, team player.
Experience using Morningstar, Bloomberg, Barra, and Factset; programming experience a plus.
